Forgacs Marine and Defence has waterfront shipbuilding facilities on both the west and east coasts of Australia, specialising in vessel and modular construction, piping and mechanical work, specialist surface protection, maintenance and support.
The shipyards are well equipped to construct and consolidate blocks for major combatants, or to construct and consolidate entire vessels for small to medium-sized ships, such as offshore patrol vessels, inshore patrol vessels, mine hunters, icebreakers and ships of similar dimensions.
Our west coast facility has direct access to the Australian Marine Complex Common User Facility which includes a 100m x 42m floating dock capable of transferring vessels up to 4,600 tonnes.
We are planning to install a ship-lift at our east coast site capable of lifting and transferring vessels up to 2,000 tonnes. Both locations offer undercover workshops for vessel construction and maintenance activities, fabrication and piping workshops, surface treatment halls and large laydown areas.
Our complete service offering enables us to offer our clients cost-effective, tailored and innovative solutions to enhance their projects. We bring our experience in delivering sensitive projects where protection of clients’ intellectual property is a primary consideration.
We are capable of meeting the requirements of the defence market, providing the facilities, productivity, innovation and commitment required to manufacture some of the largest, technically-challenging modular structures in Australia.
