Ship Construction
FORGACS Shipyard Tomago – formerly known as Carrington Slipways
– is making waves not only when it launches a new vessel but
also as one of Australia’s leading ship building facilities.
From the method engineering process through to laying the
keel and on to launching, FORGACS are capable of constructing
both steel and aluminium hull vessels such as tugs, passenger
craft and naval ships amongst others. Most of these are able
to be built totally undercover to achieve superior quality.
Over its history, the Shipyard has proudly launched the Seafaris,
Webb’s Creek Ferry, David Allan, the Searoad Tamar, the Aurora
Australia, the John Cadman, the Blackburn Cove, the HMAS Tobruk
and many more.
Seafaris took out the top prize in its class at the prestigious
2007 World Superyacht Awards in Venice (see below)
